Regina, SK

We left Steinbach Campground at 8 am this morning. Traffic was light leaving Steinbach as most all commuter traffic to Winnipeg had already left. Today was a long day but an easy day of driving. Four lane almost all the way, so we just set the cruise at 100 kph and watched the scenery roll by. Definitely much flatter than northern Ontario. We had a quick pit stop at the Husky in Brandon and then a quick lunch at the tourist centre on Hwy 1 just as we were leaving Manitoba.Thunderstorms were everywhere for the last two hours coming into Regina. which made the drive interesting. The above shots were taken near Balgonie. Chris got her lightning shot! Lightning, rain and wind all over the place but our Phaeton performed admirably. We are booked into the private campground on RCMP Training Academy grounds and looking forward to a quiet and early evening. We have a tour of the RCMP Heritage Centre planned for tomorrow morning and then are getting together with old friends and neighbours from when I was stationed here.

Time for supper.
