Anchorage, Alaska

We all drove in to Anchorage today to do a little more exploring. It rained on and off for most of the day but it was still pretty mild. Our first stop was Earthquake Park which is the area of Anchorage that was hit by a devastating earthquake back in 1964. We drove past the International Airport on the way back into Anchorage and were amazed at the way cars and pickups were parked in among all the small airplanes, right at the edge of the road too. Kind of like drive up and fly. We hit Alaska Mint again. They have some really nice coins and Alaskan jewelery pieces. The girls visited two bead shops while Jim and I waited in the car. A little lunch was then in order at Carl Jr’s. We wandered about downtown and the Dimond Center as well. There wasn’t too much to photograph today because of the low clouds and weather, but I did manage to find these lovely flowers near city hall and just had to take a few shots. Apparently, I have been derelict in reporting the latest canasta results as well. Lets just say the boys continue to play well. It is difficult to keep counting points once over 10,000 though……
