Watson Lake, Yukon

Chris and I went for a little drive along the highway in the Saturn at Liard yesterday to try and get some photos of some buffalo we had seen on the way in from Fort Nelson. There are several herds of them all along the highway. We only had to go 5 minutes down the road before we saw about 30 of them lazing about in the grass.
We left Liard River Hot Springs around 8:30 am this morning to sunny skies….for a change. Both motorhomes have almost full grey tanks and could use a dump station and some diesel fuel. We decided to only go as far as Watson Lake and are staying at Campground Services at mile 632 of Alaska Highway for a couple of nights. We pulled in around noon, again without reservations, and managed to get a couple of full service sites for a couple of nights at $27/night. Two days stay will give us a chance to clean off the grime we have collected and also get some laundry done. It will also give Jim a chance to pick up a replacement battery for his toad.Last night, we enjoyed our last hot springs soak in Liard before supper. Then after a bit of supper, it was round 2 of Boys vs Girls in canasta. All that needs be said about that is: Boys 2 – Girls 0.
