Whitehorse, YT

Tuesday was an out and about day for us all in Whitehorse. Weather was lovely so in the morning we all went for a hike along the Yukon River at Miles Canyon which is just up the road from Pioneer RV Park. We crossed the suspension bridge and turned left towards Whitehorse to begin our 2 plus hour hike. There was a placard at the suspension bridge showing the Yukon River Loop so we set off with great vigor. The trail followed a river canyon for quite a few miles and gave us some great views of the Yukon river. We turned around after 90 minutes or so and took the more direct route back to the bridge.
The girls did a little shopping and groceries in the afternoon and then went to Walmart to print up some of the many pictures we have taken on our trip for their scrapbooks. I expect they will be busy cutting and pasting for quite some time. Jim and I took the groceries back to the RVs and then popped out to his cousin Glen’s place on a beautiful little lake while the girls met up with Pat for some more shopping.

We all met up at Bob and Pat’s for a wonderful supper and helped their friend Bill celebrate his 84th birthday. What wonderful hospitality, conversation and food! Bob works wonders with his cappuchino maker. We also picked up our 4 bicycles from their garage where they had been stored while we were in Alaska. Thank you both for welcoming us into your home.

Back on the road tomorrow.
