We’ve been enjoying some wonderful weather and great pickleball since arriving at TT Palm Springs. Yesterday, Dennis, Bob and I were invited to join some other Thousand Trails player for some friendly challenge games at Catalina Spa & RV Resort which is just down the road. Catalina is a very nice park with two huge swimming pools and 4 pickleball courts. We played at 1 pm, so it was definitely during the heat of the day, but it felt very nice. Thousand Trails came out on top with more wins.
Jim and Jane arrived around noon yesterday and managed to get a spot right next to Bob and Julie, near the front entrance. They also were able to extend here for two weeks instead of only the four days they had reserved, so we will all get to spend some time together. Barb organized a shrimp linguini supper for everyone last night. Julie brought over a great salad and Chris made Jim’s favourite, Pineapple Dream, for dessert. We had everyone over at PP for supper and had a marvellous time catching up. It was the first time all of us have been in one place since TT Peace River in April 2008.
We’ve been out exploring Palm Springs and the surrounding area. Lots of high end shopping around here for sure. We even saw the luxury car dealers row on Hwy 111…Jaguar, Maserati, etc and have seen quite a few Rolls Royces and even a Bentley driving around town. Hoping to maybe get a picture on the blog of a new Maserati.
We still have some sightseeing plans for this area. Chris and I are looking forward to a trip on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. But tomorrow will feature more pickleball in the morning. Chris has a hair appointment at 10 am too. Finding lots of oranges and grapefruits growing on trees inside the park. Barb has a tree right next to here motorhome and the grapefruit from it are fabulous!
You can see Phaeton Place smack dab in the middle of the above map, along with Dennis & Barb’s position too. The park is pretty full and there are always rigs coming and going throughout the day.
One technical note, I had to replace the cigarette lighter power cable on our Garmin Nuvi760 GPS this afternoon. Best Buy had lots of new ones in stock. Unfortunately, the new ones no longer have a power light built in to the plug in. The old one did and it was easy to see if the lighter had power. Oh well. Seems to be doing the job alright.
