Arizona Wing of Commemorative Air Force

We took a run up to Phoenix this morning to return our old Cuisinart bread maker. It died some months ago while we were in Alaska and after many phone calls to Cuisinart Canada and Cuisinart USA, Cuisinart USA finally agreed to do the sensible thing and replace it with a newer model. We’ve had the new model for about a month now and it works great. We dropped the old one off in Glendale with little fanfare.

After lunch at Cracker Barrel and a badly needed trip to a Barnes & Noble for some reading material, we headed for Mesa to see the antique planes at the CAF Museum. Please see link above. Many planes were expertly restored to flying condition and the pride of the museum was definitely “Sentimental Journey”, a fully restored and flyable B-17G Flying Fortress. We even got to watch the B-17 run up it’s engines and take off right over the museum hangars.
