TT Colorado River, Columbus, TX

We left Bayview RV “Resort” in Rockport, TX shortly after 9 am this morning.  Blue skies and sunshine for our drive east on Hwy 35 along the coast to Palacios.  Remember how we didn’t see any whooping cranes in Rockport until yesterday?  Well, we saw two more cranes in a field about 10 miles east of Rockport and then another one flying some miles past that.  Go figure!  At Palacios, we turned north on Hwy 71 all the way to Columbus.  TT Colorado River is located north of I-10 about a mile off Hwy 71.  There was a little construction along Hwy 35 west of Palacios where they were repaving the road and traffic was down to single lane in places, but waits were brief and we made quite good time.  We arrived at TT Colorado River just before 1 pm.  Our first time here and all we can say is, what a beautiful setting!  Very peaceful, green grass, pecan trees, huge sites and we got a 50 amp site overlooking the river.  We were only going to stay for 4 days before moving on to Lake Conroe, north of Houston, but have decided to extend here until Mar 26th  and bypass Lake Conroe all together.  We’ll head for New Orleans, LA on March 27th.  There is a pickleball court here but we aren’t sure how many people are playing.  The pool isn’t open until April 1st but the hot tub is functioning.  Lots of roads and trails for cycling and running while here, which suits us just fine.  We enjoyed a quiet afternoon putzing around the motorhome and sitting outside in the sunshine.

Still working through processing some of the hundreds of photos taken while we were in Rockport.  Above is the latest one which Chris really likes.
We are considering winter RV destinations for fall of this year.  Our options are to go back to Florida or to come back out west again.  Decisions, decisions……..hmmmm.
