Ashtabula Covered Bridge Driving Tour

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon driving tour exploring the many covered bridges of Ashtabula County.  Ranger Bob dropped off a driving tour map this morning and we were out the door shortly after lunch.  Ashtabula County holds a Covered Bridge Festival every year, usually over the 2nd full weekend of October.  This year’s festival runs October 9 -10, 2010.  Visitors will also get to see the spectacular fall foliage.  Please click on the title link for more information about the festival.  The tour map outlines an A tour and a B tour.  We did the A tour in about 2 hours and covered 69 miles, stopping at all the bridges for the necessary photo op.  We’ll do the B tour on Thursday most likely.
Ashtabula, OH Harbour
We rolled into Ashtabula and were impressed by the scenic harbour.  The above panorama is a series of four photos stitched together in Photoshop CS4.  Clicking on the photo should take you to a larger version in my SmugMug gallery.  We stumbled upon a nice little coffee shop called Harbor Perk in Ashtabula.  Great coffee, carrot cake and muffins too. Check them out if in the area.  You certainly won’t be disappointed.
