Nashville, Tennessee

Today was sightseeing day, so we we set off north following Natchez Trace Parkway to Nashville.  The Trace is such a pretty drive at this time of year and the scent of spring blossoms is everywhere.  We took our time and checked out a few of the rest areas and sights along the way.

Camping World was our first stop.  It is just down the street from the Grand Ole Opry and Gaylord Opryland.  We’ve been mulling over the thought of moving our two touring bicycles from the inside of our Saturn Vue when traveling, to the rear bumper of Phaeton Place.  Our main concern though, is keeping the bikes clean, dry and dust free while on the bumper.  While in Red Bay, we saw a Zephyr with a rear bicycle rack and weather cover made by Swagman.  Apparently, the cover does indeed keep bicycles clean.  Online reports are quite favorable as well.  So we now have a Swagman bike rack, weather cover and tow bar extension.  Something for me to set up on Saturday.

Grand Ole Opry
We spent a great afternoon at the Grand Ole Opry and did a backstage tour.  Boy, talk about seeing the history of Country and Western music.  There is a huge mall across the street, so we had to check it out.  The Apple Barn was a very interesting store.  Nothing to do with computers, iPod, iPad, iPhone……just everything to do with apples….the fruit.  I liked some of the store displays….as you can tell.
