Back in Ottawa, Ontario

We had a good night at Cracker Barrel but decided to pass on their breakfast and head for Ottawa.   No other RVs spent the night, just us.  We rolled north on I-81 for only a few miles before heading for Ogdensburg, NY and the bridge to Canada.  One last tank of US diesel fuel for $3.259/gallon as we left I-81 at exit 49.  Should have waited until we got to Ogdenburg though.  The Vallero station had diesel for $3.159/gallon.  Oh well! Prices have been going up as we headed north but US prices are still cheaper than those in Canada. We paid the $8 toll to get cross the bridge to Ontario and rolled up to the border crossing., the only vehicle there!  We answered the usual 3-4 questions and were sent on our way in very short order. Chris’s last photo of the “Welcome to….” signs for this trip is shown above.
We arrived at Camp Hither Hills shortly before 11 am.  The park does not offer much in the way of amenities but it does have some 50 amp sites, free wifi and is on south Bank Street, so pretty close to  downtown Ottawa.  We are here for the month of May and because we are repeat customers, we got a better rate than advertised.  Terry, the owner was away, but our site was waiting for us with our name on it.  There is a tag axle 40 ft Fleetwood motorhome from New Jersey here as well. As we were setting up, the owner told me we lucked in by coming in today and not last week.  Apparently, they had 4 inches of snow here last week.  The snow is all gone now though, the grass is green and temps are above 20C or 70F.  Tulips are out everywhere as well.  We’ve put our Tracfone away and are back using our Canadian cell phones.
