Ottawa Happenings

There isn’t much news to share unfortunately.  We’ve been tolerating wet weather this past week but have managed to get out for several morning walks with our nordic poles and I also managed a nice 80k bike ride out to Alymer and back yesterday while Chris slept following another night shift.  I grabbed these two photos with my iphone while we were out walking and also on my bike.  You can tell from the puddle on the pathway that it’s been raining a fair bit lately.  The corn field shot was taken on Prince Wales Blvd near the experimental farm.
Today we received word from Lenscrafter that our new eye glasses were finally ready to be picked up.  Neither of us thought our prescriptions had altered much in the past two years.  However, lets just say that we both seem to have a much clearer outlook on things as of today and leave it at that.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in Photoshop CS5 lately and have picked up a few new editing tips.  Chris really likes this one of Sarah from her recent wedding in Punta Cana.  I used some soft focus techniques and a tighter crop than in the original and then also made her eyes sparkle more with a nifty little screening layer.  There is just so much to learn in Photoshop.  I try to pick up a few new tips regularly by downloading  various podcasts to my iPhone 4.  Makes for easy listening while we are out walking.  So far, so good.  Drop a comment and let me know what you think.

Nice job on the photo – it looks great! But hey, you don't need Photoshop to make that young lady look terrific!!
