Ottawa Airport

We’ve been busy since our last post.  Chris has picked up a few more shifts at work and I’ve been keeping myself busy around the motorhome.  Weather has been rather moist, if you catch my drift, but we’ve had sun for the last two days.  Pretty sure that is going to change tomorrow though.  Our daily workout routine continues to take us to the Ottawa river and the parking lot at the foot of Blair Rd.  From there, we can run/walk either east or west along the path running along the river.  We’ve run eastward to P8 and back, and then today we put on our hiking shoes and hiked 5.5 miles which took us past P8 and back again.  The nice thing about heading east instead of west from the Blair Rd parking lot is that there is a dry toilet facility on the bike path near P8, which comes in handy.  No complaints about the temperatures these days either.  It is definitely cooling off as autumn approaches but that makes the hiking and running more pleasant.
Canadian North
Chris slept until noon after her last night shift while I went out to the Ottawa airport and photographed some aircraft taking off and landing.  Seems like I wasn’t the only one out there with a camera.  Ottawa airport is a little easier to approach than some airports in larger cities.  My best vantage point was off Bowesville Rd near the Uplands golf course.  This put the sun behind me and gave me a pretty good angle on many aircraft coming and going.  It was an enjoyable morning.
I’ve also been busy customizing my SmugMug page.  I’m new to CSS and html programming, but with the help of the dgrin user forum, I managed to find some code that gives the visitor’s page a nice new look.  Please drop by and check it out.

    That is one big beautiful motor home you have there!!! Dennis, my hubby, used to have his pilot's license (MY worst nightmare, but that's another story)…He always visits airports when we travel…Keep up the walking and stay healthy and safe!

    Good for you guys! Staying active is so important. We have learned this the hard way. Now with Mike's recent diagnosis of pre-diabetes we are beginning to work on being healthier. We are beginning to walk 2 miles every day and hope to increase this as we adjust. Our diets have also changed a great deal. We have been active but not in the right ways.
