Phaeton Place Fall Cleaning

We’ve been enjoying sunny and warm days with cool nights lately.  Ideal weather for a fall cleaning of Phaeton Place both inside and out.  Chris tackled her favourite past time of rearranging the inside cupboards.  It will take me a few days to find out where things are again but that is part of the fun.  We both enjoy this twice annual ritual and its kind of fun guessing where things are.  I spent all day yesterday and half of today cleaning the outside of PP with dri-wash.  No RV washing here at Camp Hithers Hills unfortunately so we made do with the dri-wash. Works very well with micro fiber cloths.  I must have used a dozen or more each day.  Spray on, wipe off, buff to shine, move to the next spot……..

I went up on the roof to clean the edges, solar panels and to also better clean and buff the front and rear caps.  Much easier for me than balancing on the top of a ladder.  One of our Max Air vent covers had been binding the mid coach air vent cover occasionally as well, so I removed and realigned the Max Air cover and all is well now.  One bit of bad news while poking around up there though.  Turns out that a number of cracks have developed in the roof where it meets the side walls of the motorhome.  Most cracks  appear to be  superficial but one above the driver’s side bedroom slide is about 6 inches long and right through the metal skin.  Thankfully, this can be patched temporarily with a product called Eternabond Tape which may be available locally.  There are several related threads on Tiffin RV Network about roof cracks so our problem is certainly not unique.  We have an appointment in Red Bay on Oct 22nd.  I’ve already called Don Boyd in their warranty office to ask about having this problem addressed while we are there.  This photo from TRVN shows what the cracks look like.  This isn’t our roof, but you get the idea.

Now that rig is as shiny as a new recruits boots. Nice to see everyone stirring and getting ready for the south country.

Sure wish we would get some of that warm weather so we could get a few more outside things done without mitts on…!

That Phaeton looks just like you hosed it off and scrubbed with a brush..immaculate…I think we ought to buy some shares of this Eternabond stuff..seems EVERYONE is using it!!!
