Out and About

Typical fall weather here in Ontario now.  Yesterday it rained almost all day.  Today, sunny but very windy especially on Lake Erie and along the Niagara river.  I managed a nice walk along the beach again this morning.  It takes me about 90 minutes to walk my circuit through part of the modular home area of Sherkston Shores and then along the beach for quite a ways. Just enough time to listen to a complete photography podcast or two on my iPhone.  Today it was The Digital Story with Derrick Story. Derrick does an excellent job discussing new equipment, post processing techniques, off camera flash, and many other photography related things.
Windsurfer
When we first got here I was walking or running in shorts and t-shirt and wearing sandals while out and about.  This morning I had on sweat pants, a merino wool top and a sweater  and it was still a little chilly.  Lots of leaves falling from the trees today in this wind but the area where Phaeton Place is parked is quite sheltered.
I followed the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie into Niagara Falls this afternoon.  Along the way, I saw some windsurfers enjoying brisk winds and pretty choppy water on the Niagara river.  I chatted with some of them as they geared up.  I guess the conditions were borderline, almost too windy.  The Falls were moderately busy with tourists all bundled up against the wind.  Isn’t it too early for toques and mitts? Apparently not!  No pics of The Falls unfortunately…sorry!
Heading for Hamilton tomorrow.  Hoping to visit the Warplane Museum while waiting for Chris to arrive, then off to my daughter’s place for supper.
