Thousand Trails Palm Springs

Last night was catch up night for laundry and dishes. We had full hookups at Colorado River Oasis but because we were only there one night, I didn’t connect our sewer hose.  We always wanted to find out how quickly the washer and dishwasher filled up our grey tank.  We ran two loads of laundry, one load of dishes and two showers this morning.  Our grey tank was only at 40% capacity, so we have quite a bit of space left.  Handy information for our next boondocking adventure in Quartzsite, AZ in January.
We hit the road at 8 am PST this morning.  Our first stop was the agricultural inspection station at the California/Arizona state line.  We lost a handful of grapefruit and apples to the inspector but were on our way within several minutes.  From there it was clear sailing into TT Palm Springs.  We pulled in just after 10 am and were greeted by the always smiling Ranger Linda at check in.  We managed to find a great 50 amp site next to our friends Barb & Dennis.  Backing in was a little tricky with the huge palm trees along the road but Chris got me in the site very quickly.  Good job babe!  After quick hugs and hand shakes, we managed to get set up in time for Dennis & I to head over for a little pickleball.  Boy was it great to be playing again.
TT Palm Springs has spent some money this past year.  The pool has been upgraded so that it is a uniform 5 feet deep.  Looks like the pickleball courts have been resurfaced and painted as well.  Many of the seasonal 50 amp sites on the west end of the campground have been opened up for regular visitors too.  Another improvement is that some of the rental trailers have been moved from the prime location, 50 amp interior sites and onto the outside loop of the preserve.

Lots of familiar faces here.  Our good friends Barb & Dennis, Ken & Faye, Bob & Julie and Oland & Merilee.  I’m sure there are more here as well.  Julie and Chris popped out for a few groceries while struggled at pickleball.  Barb & Dennis are having us all over for a welcome supper tonight.  Finally, we can relax and start to enjoy our winter holiday.  No more repairs to be concerned about for awhile……and  no more driving for 3 weeks while we are here.  Woohoo!!
