Back at TT Palm Springs

So we just finished 7 days at TT Wilderness Lakes.  The last five days were basically rain and more rain.  We watched as the water level in the canals rose as much as a foot.  Weather forecasts for southern California are still calling for rain through Wednesday of this week and there have even been some flash flood warnings issued.  After a solid day and night of rain yesterday, we gladly headed out of Menifee at 9 am this morning and pulled into TT Palm Springs around 10:40 am.  Lets just say, the drive across the mountains was interesting.  Lots of rain which did not abate until we were about 15 miles west of Palm Springs on I-10.  Skies were still threatening, but we actually saw the sun as we rolled into Thousand Trails.  We even saw people playing pickleball when we arrived!  Hadn’t seen that in quite a few days.
Thornton Winery
We enjoyed a visit to Thornton Winery in Temecula with Ken & Faye on Sunday afternoon, in the rain, followed by lunch at a Five Guys Famous Burgers & Fries.  After that it was back to the campground to get things packed up, in the rain, for our departure this morning.  I left most of the outside packing up until this morning……just hoping the rain would stop.  It stopped for about 30 minutes, just long enough for me to throw our patio mats, wheel covers, and bikes into the back of the Vue.
So we are all set up in site 349 for the next three weeks….right behind the pickleball courts!

Just on the other side of the interstate here in Desert Hot Springs, and the only redeeming factor is good friends to meet and the warm clear water of the hot pools! Still waiting for some southern california desert sunshine.
