Indian Canyons

Indian Canyon Rock Cut on Blue Sky
Today’s activities featured a 6 mile hike in Indian Canyons for Bob, Julie, Chris and I.  Please click on the title of this post for a link to their website.  Julie found the hike in a local hiking guide book she picked up at Barnes & Noble the other day.  The weather has improved in recent days so over a spaghetti and lasagna supper at our place last night, the four of  us decided that we should forego pickleball this morning and head out on a good hike.  We arrived at Indian Canyons around 10 am and set out on a 6 mile hike through desert and oasis toward Palm Canyon.  Our goal was a small pool of water in an oasis about 3 miles from the trading post.  The hike was rated as moderate but I don’t mind telling you that we were all sucking big time on the way back.  It was mostly uphill on the way out, meaning the way back was mostly downhill.  Our feet and knees were throbbing by the time we got back to the parking lot just before 2 pm.  We probably could have done with three bottles of water each instead of only two though.
The ride back to the campground afterwards was great, mainly because we were all sitting down!  Our feet and knees weren’t so sore while seated.  We approached Washington St on Hwy 111 ready to make a left turn for home when eagle eye Julie spotted a Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries in a small mall.  Chris and I hadn’t been to one since back east, so we made a snap decision to stop for one of their burgers.  It was fabulous!!
When we arrived back at Phaeton Place our neighbour brought over a Fedex package for us that arrived while we were out. Turned out to be our new Verizon MIFI 2200 wifi modem.  I spent about an hour getting it all hooked up and activated. It appears to be working quite well so far with download speeds of 1.31 mb/s and upload speeds of 0.75 mb/s.  Think we can live with that for now.  Time for a little shut eye.

I really like the shot with the palm trees. Nice composition and the soft color is great.
