Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade

A bunch of us got together for pickleball at Cahuila Park off Monterey Ave on Friday morning.  It was the best pickleball we have seen since arriving in Palm Springs. There were about thirty players rotating through the five available courts.  I don’t think we ever had to sit more than 5 minutes between games which was fabulous.  I wonder why games can’t proceed as orderly and quickly here at TT Palm Springs.  I suspect things could be better organized but for whatever reason they refuse to even entertain the idea of following a paddle rotation system here, instead names are written on a paper list but all that seems to do is create needless confusion as to who plays and when.  It shouldn’t be that complicated to manage only two pickleball courts, but sadly it is.

We enjoyed a great night out with friends in Palm Springs today.  Supper at the Blue Coyote Mexican restaurant before taking in the Festival of Lights Parade after dark.  The food was excellent and we got to see many brightly lit floats and plenty of marching bands in the parade.  Julie, Chris and I joined Ken, Faye, Pam, Joe, Mitch, Barb, and another couple whose names escape me at the moment (apologies). Traffic was a bit of a nightmare afterward but the evening was surprisingly mild so no one seemed to mind sitting in traffic with the windows down.

So nice to see the parade. We will be in the area at Christmas, so are hoping for lots of great lights.
