I did manage to spend a little time in Lightroom and Photomatix Pro working on a few more HDR photos…..all while keeping one eye on our movies. Both these shots were taken on our hike the other day. Its tough getting good photos with the sun so high in the sky. Things looked pretty contrasty in camera. HDR brings out tones from shadows through to highlights though. Both these photos are 3 shot HDR compilations ranging from -2 to +2 EV, so underexposed 2 stops to overexposed 2 stops.
On an internet related technical note, I also managed to get our new Verizon MIFI 2200 working properly with our Cradlepoint MBR1000 router. The two are connected via USB cable which also charges the MIFI’s battery. According to my research, connecting to the MBR 1000 effectively increases the standard 30 ft wifi range of the MIFI to over 300 ft and also does away with the 5 device cap when using just the MIFI. Five wifi capable devices can be connected to a MIFI but with the MBR1000 router connection, more devices can be connected. Of course connecting too many devices slows down the MIFI considerably. So far so good though, the MIFI handles both our laptops and iPhones without any problem.

Now that is an interesting bit of trivia I did not know. I used to work highway patrol in the Keremeos area back in the early 80s. Cool!
