Sun Shines Again in Palm Springs

Sarah & Matt arrived on time at  Palm Springs International Airport last night.  Several earlier flights had been turned around because the airport was socked in under low cloud but by the time their flight arrived from San Francisco at 8:30 pm, all the clouds were gone and the stars were shining brightly in the sky.  We hadn’t seen either of them since their wedding in Punta Cana this past summer, so we spent quite a bit of time catching up once we got back to Phaeton Place.

Today, we hit the factory outlet in Cabazon to complete our Christmas shopping.  Chris and I had gone their with Jim and Jane last winter and liked the selection of stores.  Quite a few people out and about.  We enjoyed a nice supper at Panera Bread in Palm Springs on our way back and then  spent a couple of hour  strolling around Village Fest off Palm Canyon Drive where the city had about 4 blocks of a city street closed to vehicles.  Lots of vendors had booths set up and it was a great place to pick up some very unique Christmas gifts.  The fellow here was doing beautiful freehand masks made using aerosol paint cans.  Simply amazing what he could do in as little as ten minutes.
There was a Fedex package containing a B+H Photo gift card waiting for us when we got back to Phaeton Place.  About 10 days ago I had watched the Photoshop Guys and their first 3 hour Nappathon webinar live online on my laptop.  Chris and I were both registered and both eligible for the many prize draws of B+H gift cards.  Well you could have knocked me over with a feather when they announced Chris was a winner!!
The sun is shining once again in Palm Springs and the skies are clear…..perfect pickleball weather.

I'm always amazed at the speed and skill with which street artists create their art.

We were right there with you watching this amazing man with his paint cans doing that same picture! Isn't is wonderful that the sun finally came out for all of us?! Merry Christmas to you
