Moving Day

A quiet Sunday at Palm Springs.  We both played pickleball in the morning.  Not too many people playing which made the rest time a lot shorter…..much to everyone’s liking.  Chris went back after lunch to play partners with Judy who were playing against Carol & Annie.  Carol & Annie were practicing for an upcoming tournament and needed some court time.  The girls were quite proud of themselves.  They only lost one game which is not too bad for not playing together regularly.
We packed up most of our stuff before supper so we’d have less to worry about this morning.  We bid our goodbyes to Ken & Faye next door and hit the road shortly after 9 AM.  Our first stop was at the Morongo Travel Center in Cabazon where we topped up with diesel for $3.39/gallon, a little cheaper than anywhere we saw in the Palm Springs area.
We turned south on Hwy 79 at Beaumont and then skirted west around Hemet by following Ramona Expressway, to Domenigoni Parkway (past Wilderness Lakes) and then south on I-215 and I-15 towards San Diego.  We saw some road closures around Hemet due to flooding.  Lots of water in some of the  fields too.  The interstates were only moderately busy.  We arrived at TT Pio Pico just after 1 pm and are set up in site C-14 for our one week stay.  No telephone service here, so our tracfone and Verizon mifi are offline.  Thankfully the Datastorm is working well.
