Schnitzel, Spaetzle und Salate

Our time in Palm Springs is winding down.  We head for TT Pio Pico near San Diego on Monday morning.  We’ll be down there a week before coming back to Palm Springs.  Hoping to get some good photos of  brown pelicans on the cliffs of La Jolla while we are there.
Chris had her cooking hat on all day today as we treated our guests to an excellent German meal of schnitzel, spaetzle und salate.  We got some really nice thick, boneless pork chops at Costco.  They were thick enough that we had to slice them in half to get a nice size schnitzel for the fry pan.  Spaetzle is a German pasta dish which Chris made from scratch.  You can see me here mixing up the spaetzle dough which we ran through a hand press to make the noodles.  Wonderful!
And here is Chris slaving away in her kitchen.  She is in her glory here.   Dennis & Donna, Ken & Faye, Oland & Merilee, Brian & Judy, Bob & Julie (Julie bowed out at the last minute because of illness) and the two of us enjoyed a fabulous evening. Faye brought an excellent red cabbage dish. Barb out did herself with one of her signature cakes and Judy brought a key lime pie.  OMG!!  Ken tried his best but couldn’t quite get through two desserts.  There was so much food that we sent people home with some.   After supper we had some great laughs playing 31.
Finally, Malone, a regular reader of our blog asked for some photos of my new Wacom Intuos tablet.  Instead of adding more photos here, I’ve edited the Wacom blog entry so that the title activates a link to the Wacom website and more information on the Intuos tablet.  Please drop buy and check it out.
