Water Volleyball at Palm Springs

We left TT Pio Pico on Monday morning at 07:30 AM after spending a great week hiking and birding around the San Diego area.  We retraced our route back to Palm Springs and were all checked in and on our site by 11 AM, site 316 for three weeks.  The weather has been absolutely marvelous in Palm Springs the past week and the hot, sunny days are continuing this week with daytime highs over 80F and nighttime lows over 50F.  I think we even cranked on the a/c in the motorhome the other day.
Beginning this week, we have started a walk/run program in the morning before breakfast.  The inside roads at the park total almost 3 miles and we are finding this a great way to start our day.  Following a quick bite  of breakfast this morning, we were off to play pickleball.  The courts were pretty busy today so there was lots of sitting around between games unfortunately, but it can’t be helped.  We’ve met many new players and by the end of this week some of the rest of our gang will be back here at Thousand Trails.  We both played water volleyball after lunch.  A new activity for us and a lot of fun.  We end our days with an evening walk twice around the perimeter of the park.
We also found out today that we’ve managed to get two one week RPI reservations at Catalina Spa & RV Resort here in Palm Springs.  A week in February and another week in March with a three week stay here at Thousand Trails sandwiched in between those dates.
