More Painted Canyon

I’ve had a chance to go through some more photos from our recent hike to Painted Canyon that were taken with our point and shoot camera  This first one describes the area and is on a sign post at the trailhead.  Clicking on it should enlarge it enough to read properly.

These next three photos give some idea of how tight the slot canyon trail was and the ladders we had to use to climb down to the lower levels.  All I could think about while there was what a great setting for an old western movie, perfect ambush territory.
Chris caught this great shot of a flowering prickly pear cactus.  Notice the bee inside the flower.
We are enjoying our last week at Thousand Trails Palm Springs before moving onto Catalina Spa again for a week on March 7th.  The weather has warmed up nicely and today was a scorcher on the Cahuilla Park pickleball courts, no wind….nothing but clear blue sky and lots of sunshine.  Lots of great games with players gearing up for the tourney at Catalina Spa next week.  We hit the road out of here on March 21st and have reservations at Rancho Oso, Encore Pacifica in San Francisco, TT Russian River and an RPI park in Klamath as we start heading north on Hwy 101.  We are both looking forward to hitting the road and seeing new places.
The Vue goes in for routine service and a brake job in the morning.  I’ve also managed to locate a new battery for our Garmin online which should be here next week.  Pitter patter.
