West Edmonton Mall

West Edmonton Mall Panorama
Pretty quiet around here yesterday.  I spent quite a bit of time with my new iPad 2 uploading content and apps for our trip to England.  I even grabbed a few new photography related books for the Kindle app and am also sharing some of Chris’s latest kindle acquisitions, so there shouldn’t be any lack of reading material during our flight.  I’ve read a few articles on Chris’s Kindle already and like the format. My iPad 2 makes the color photos in the books pop, something the Kindle itself can’t do because it doesn’t do color.  I’ve also uploaded most of my Smugmug photos to the iPad.  Nothing like carrying a portfolio with me to show family and friends in England.
We visited West Edmonton Mall on Wednesday.  Chris had her hair done while Matt, Sarah & I wandered around the mall.  The shear size of West Ed is something to behold.  I visited here with my parents back in 1994 when our kids were quite young but West Ed has really grown since then.  I grabbed the above photo panorama with my iPhone 4 using the Photosynth app from Microsoft.  This app is amazing and from Microsoft too!!  And free!!  Just aim the iphone camera and repeatedly fill the viewing rectangle shown on the iphone screen with as many photos as you want. The app takes the photos automatically, stitches them altogether and then stores the panorama photo in the Camera Roll on the iphone.  The app even permits upload direct to various social media accounts.
One more sleep here in Leduc before we head for Calgary tomorrow and then England on Saturday.

Ah yes … West Ed … quite the mall, even if you're not a shopper. Safe travels.

Love the photo. Now I'm lusting after an iPad and an iPhone. If you typed all this using your iPad, are you using an external keyboard or just tapping away on the screen? I've never heard of Blogsy. The blog is looking very good whatever it is you're using. One day I'm going to have to start one myself.
