Well, Phaeton Place is all set up at Leduc Lions Campground for the next 6 weeks. We rolled in here on Thursday afternoon, one day earlier than our reservation, and are all plugged in with 50 amp, water, sewer and free wifi. We are in the newest section of the park so no trees or anything to obstruct our satellite reception. We were actually surprised to see that the full hook up section is almost full. We were last here for a week on our way to Alaska in July 2009 with our friends Jim and Jane. The full service section is now double in size and all 50 amp which is pretty neat. You can see the older section behind us…..lots of grass and trees there!
First Truck Center in east Edmonton did a great job of looking after our needs. They spent two hours trying to find the cause of our random loss of dash electronics but like any vehicle going in for service, Phaeton Place decided she would work flawlessly, so they weren’t able to locate the cause unfortunately. They did do a complete service for us though and they also did not bill us for the time spent on our electrical issue. So not the news we were hoping for but still not too bad over all.
Chris has been chomping at the bit to see her new puppy, so while PP was in for service, we popped out to see our dog breeder at her home in Beaumont so we could have a look at all her mini schnauzer puppies. She has two litters of nine puppies right now. At only 3 weeks old, they are still pretty tiny but Chris has chosen the male she wants……and he’s the pick of the litter too! Now we wouldn’t expect anything less would we? His name will be Teddy because he looks like a little teddy bear. He is the most active and most attentive of all the pups. All pups should be ready to go on or about July 18th which is a couple of days before we start to head east.
We were up early this morning and did a nice 6 km power walk along the bike trail that runs all the way into Leduc. After a bit of breakfast we picked up Sarah and headed for Petsmart (to check out all the cool doggie things), Chapters (for coffee and our reading fix) before finally hitting Costco for some badly needed groceries. Our freezer is starting to fill up again. BBQd salmon for supper tonight.
