Happy Thanksgiving

Phaeton Place was on the road south out of Dothan, AL shortly after 8 am heading for Florida.  Our overnight stay at Flying J was not restful at all, as expected of course, but imagine our surprise when not two miles south of the Flying J on US 231, we spied a Super Walmart with a huge parking lot and only one Motorhome parked there overnight.  If only we had known!  But it was only for one night and we can put up with the inconvenience for the one night.

We continued south and picked up I-10 east once we entered Florida.  Traffic was moderate and once through Tallahassee, we turned south on Hwy 19 all the way to Crystal River, where we turned east on Hwy 44 to Leesburg and finally onto Hwy 27 to Thousand Trails in Clermont.  Other than a pit stop for fuel and some breakfast along the way, we kept motoring without stopping.  The drive was one of those that never seemed to end, likely because we have been in travel mode pretty well no stop since we left Ontario on Nov 3rd.

Well, we are all settled into site A-8 at TT Orlando for the next week.  We find it quite humid here, but  Hey, this IS Florida after all.  Bob Shirley is a couple of sites over from us and ran out to meet us as we arrived.  Julie is away visiting family this week, but imagine our surprise when Bob brought over a fantastic turkey dinner for us all to enjoy on our first might in town.  What a guy!  It was great to catch up after saying our goodbyes in Palm Springs, CA last spring.  RV life is great!

To all our friends, a very Happy Thanksgiving and we hope you enjoy time with friends and family.

On a housekeeping note, I’ve been having trouble posting photos to my blog using Blogsy for some reason.  Seems Blogsy is making the photos too wide for the body of the post on occasion which pushes the sidebar off the main page and to a position below the blog post.  Trying to overcome the problem now.  Please let me know if you encounter any noticeable layout issues by leaving a comment.  Hoping to have this issue resolved ASAP.
