Goodbye TT Peace River

We’ve had a shorter stay than normal at Thousand Trails Peace River this time.  Only a week and we are already on our way north…..but this time to Red Bay, AL to have our front air conditioner sorted out once and for all.  The Tiffin Service Center has managed to get us in with an appointment on short notice and I am told they plan to make this right as well.  The weather in Red Bay is not real great right now so we are hoping for a quick in and out so that we can get back to some warm Florida sunshine as soon as possible.

We’ve enjoyed our last week in Wauchula.  Chris has been working hard on her nutrition course and has enlisted quite a few of our friends for her case studies.  There is a questionnaire for participants to complete and then Chris has to analyze all of them.  I’ve been busy playing a little Pickleball with Lou, Carol, Lee & Judy.  We all got together for dinner out at Wauchula Family Restaurant last night.  We each chose various forms of grouper as our main dish and it was all excellent.  The owners are Greek and do a wonderful job.  My Fisherman’s Broil was top notch.  After supper, we decided to stop at Pure Magic again for an ice cream.  We stopped here before on our last trip to Peace River and loved their home made ice cream.  The girls put whatever you want in a metal bowl with some cream and then pump some liquid nitrogen into the bowl and stir it all up to make almost instant ice cream…..and it is fabulous.  We each had a small cup for $4.00 but we could have quite easily split one cup between us had we both wanted the same flavor.

This morning was pack up and hit the road day.  We left a little later than usual, not pulling out of TT Peace River until just before 10 am.  I had most everything packed up yesterday afternoon so there wasn’t much left to do other than dump our black tank, pull in the slides and raise the jacks.  Not quite, but you get the idea.  We saw Lee & Judy this morning before we left and will see them again soon at Rambler’s Rest in Venice.  Teddy and their dog Nicky play very well together so we are looking forward to that visit in mid February.  Today was pretty well driving, north on up through Lakeland and then eventually onto I-75 west of Clermont and north into Georgia.  We stopped for fuel at Flying J in Valdosta and continued on to a Cracker Barrel in Tifton, GA where we’ll spend tonight.  On to Birmingham tomorrow and then Red Bay around noon on Sunday if all goes well.

Things have gotten decidedly cooler weather wise.  Supposed to be down below freezing here in Tifton tonight, only 30F but still cooler than we have experienced recently.  There was a little snow blowing around Red Bay the other day so that’s not too amusing but we’ll alright.  We can always leave the slides in to help keep the heat in a little better.  Hoping
