Today started off with coffee and doughnuts over at the Lazydays and North Trail motorhome display. Gotta say that Krispy Kreme aren’t really my favorites but the coffee was good. Chris took in a number of seminars today including microwave cooking. I sat in on a few as well and found the Cummins Onan seminar to be very informative. The Cummins rep told us our generator burns only about half a gallon of diesel fuel per hour and that it is a good idea to run the roof air conditioners with the generator while driving in order to regularly exercise the generator under load. We’ve heard of doing this but frankly haven’t done it very often. The generator needs to be used regularly and not left sitting unused for months at a time. Guess we’ll try running the generator on our way to Tampa on Sunday morning. We haven’t been dry camping in some time so a little exercise will be good for it.
Tom Webber, one of the Tiffin reps at the rally, entertained us with his chainsaw carving this afternoon. It is quite amazing what can be done with a couple of chainsaws and an artist’s eye. After that, one of the Triple H Electronics techs dropped by and tried to fix the video feed on our DVD player. I’m thinking the HDMI 1×4 splitter may be acting up. I’m going try another HDMI blue ray device we have with the splitter once we get settled in at TT Orlando next week. There are 250 coaches here at the rally and each day the fairground facility caters a sit down supper for 52o people. Tonight we had chicken breast with boiled potatoes, green beans and garden salad for supper followed by apple cobbler with ice cream and coffee for dessert. It was excellent.
Tonight’s entertainment was an Elvis impersonator named Dwight Icenhower and his band. Dwight has been named Grand Champion Elvis Impersonator for the last two years and his show was really top notch. He did two sets. The first set was early Elvis and the second set was Vegas Elvis. We both thought the second set was brilliant. Boy, what a voice!
More seminars tomorrow, a pet parade and we see the Bellamy Brothers perform tomorrow night. Woohoo!
