On Our New Site

Bill popped by last night to tell Teddy & I that our new site was ready for us to move on to in the morning. The park had cleared out two old park models from our site and the one next to us earlier this spring and completely redone both sites with new asphalt pads and resodded the lots with grass to make them suitable for motorhomes or fifth wheel trailers. The sod went in last week and needed some time to settle.

We packed up this morning and were all moved in to our new site before noon. The only thing missing is a storage shed but that is apparently going to be erected soon. The owner of the park is away but I’ll pop in to see him next week and get things moving. I couldn’t back Phaeton Place in as far as I wanted to on our pad because of a low overhead telephone cable at the rear of the lot. This means our door does not properly line up with the patio stones and results in our stepping out on to grass instead of patio stones. Bill is going to arrange for the patio to be extended a little further past our door, likely next week some time. What a guy!

Green Acre Park is looking very nice. The grounds crew has been busy cutting grass, raking leaves, spreading gravel and doing a great job in sprucing things up for the busy summer season. Most, if not all, of the 50 amp seasonal sites are now full and many of the long term owners are also returning. The park is getting busier every day.

Weather has certainly warmed up today which is a welcome change from the cold and wet we’ve had since we arrived on April 22nd. We got up to nearly 30C today which had me back in my favorite attire…..T shirt, shorts and sandals. I almost cranked up the air conditioners but thought it better to tough it out instead. I’m sitting outside on our patio doing up this post on my iPad while enjoying a cooler evening. However looking to the north, it would appear a storm is on its way before too long. It’s already getting cooler.

Good news from Chris & Sarah too. Their cross country adventure is finally over. They overnighted with family near Moncton, NB last night and then pushed through to Greenwood, Nova Scotia today, arriving before 3 pm local time. Chris will spend another 10 days or so with her father before the girls drive back to Ontario around the middle of this month.

The site looks great. The sky does not!

You should see how black the skies are now! I think the worst of the storm cell missed us to the north but it is still coming down really hard now.

Tecumseh hit 29 C but Humidex was 37 C. With Kathy’s allergies the AC got its first workout of the season.

    It’s about time.

PS: Got the comment on the right post this time.

You did get it right this time. Thanks for dropping by. Pouring right now but it’s nice and dry inside. :)
