We had a wonderful day today! We are both very tired but also thankful that things went very well and that our family and friends had a good time. Lindsay and Casey came in from Hamilton & Toronto to join in our celebration. Sarah & Lindsay helped Chris with her makeup and hair. The kids brought a nice floral arrangement as well as a bouquet for Chris and boutonniere for yours truly. Lindsay really out did herself with a fabulous chocolate & raspberry fondant cake too! There were seven of us all together: Chris, moi, Lindsay, Casey, Sarah, Matt and Casey’s girlfriend Shannon. We took two cars into St Jacobs and arrived at our spot along the river in plenty of time for the ceremony. Neither Chris nor I wanted a big wedding as we have both been married before. Instead, we opted for a simple outdoor ceremony using an officiant from Kettle Creek Weddings. Mark Michalek, a friend of Lindsay’s from university days, was our photographer and did a great job. The ceremony itself was short & sweet and included an exchange of rings along with photographs by the river and at other locations in St Jacobs.
Our photographer transferred all the RAW files to a USB memory stick for me before we parted company and I’ll look after doing the post processing myself as time permits. The seven of us enjoyed a wonderful supper at Spring Rolls restaurant before heading back to Phaeton Place around 7 pm. Turns out the neighbours “decorated” the outside of our motorhome and site with streamers and other decorations. My brother in law, Bill, had the John Deere tractor and wagon used for hay rides at the campground all decorated up for us. We all piled into the wagon with some of our neighbours and let Bill pull us around the campground for everyone to see. We had a hoot waving at everyone as we sipped our coffee. Our day ended around the campfire where we enjoyed Lindsay’s cake and later on a few smores before finally shutting things down around 11 PM. What a great day!!!
Here’s a sample of a couple of photos I’ve worked on so far.
