Kingston to Ottawa, Ontario

We buttoned up Phaeton Place on Monday and headed to Ottawa for a couple of nights so we could take care of various medical and dental appointments before heading south. It rained most of the way to Ottawa but was surprisingly mild temperature wise. Ottawa survived the wrath of hurricane Sandy with nothing except quite strong winds overnight last night and today. Today was beautiful with temps around 20°C and plenty of blue sky.

First up this morning was a visit to our dentist in Chapel Hill. We used to use a pet groomer in the same strip mall and managed to squeeze Teddy in for a buff and wax while we were at the dentist. He wasn't too happy about being fooled but looked great when all was said and done.

A bit of lunch at Place Orleans followed by a short walk for Teddy before we headed for the doctor's office. Cholesterol's higher than we would like to see but neither one of us has had an easy summer. Nothing a regular fitness routine and better diet can't resolve. We are both looking forward to setting up at Tanglewood in Sebring, FL and plan to take full advantage of all it has to offer. We have one more appointment in the morning and hope to be on our way back to Kingston before lunch.

The motorhome is pretty well ready to go now. Just have to empty our holding tanks and maybe run through some laundry and we are good to go. Departure plans for Florida on Thursday morning still look to be in the cards. Unless I'm missing something, the weather along I-81 southbound looks to be pretty good too. Hoping we can get south without encountering any snow if possible.
