Happy Valentine’s Day

We had a wonderful day today.  Pickleball this morning while the sun was still shining a little, followed by obedience classes for Teddy & Chris while I looked on from the sidelines.  Teddy is doing very well with his training.  He prances when he walks and really enjoys performing for treats and praise.  The weather turned cool and wet after lunch and it has rained almost nonstop since about 2 pm.  We are certainly in need of rain.  The one pond near the rear gate was almost dry but I noticed when we came back from dinner that the water level in that pond had risen substantially.  The forecast is calling for cool and rainy weather through the weekend but we aren’t complaining.

Tony & Christine

Of course today is Valentine’s Day so we began the day with an exchange of cards and gifts.  I surprised Chris with a manicure and pedicure at one of the local salons.  She’s looking at scheduling that in with her hair appointment later this month.  We also got together with our friends Tony & Christine at Chicanes restaurant for a special Valentines Day dinner.  Dinner was fabulous and we enjoyed many laughs and stories while seated at a window booth overlooking the lake.  I grabbed a few shots with my iPhone.  I had the prime rib and Chris enjoyed her scallops very much.

Teddy was waiting for us in the stairwell of our motorhome as soon as we opened the door.  It is always such a treat to come home to his enthusiastic welcome.  I don’t think he could shake any more than he does now when we come home.  So a quick walk in the rain with Teddy after supper and we settled in for a quiet evening at home.  Tomorrow the four of us are heading up to Sam’s Club in Bartow for a little shopping.  We are also hoping to stop at the produce market in Plant City for another shot of strawberry shortcake.
