Friday was our last day in Kingston, Nova Scotia. Chris & I spent another enjoyable afternoon visiting her mother in Bridgetown at the retirement home. The staff put on a Father's Day celebration which included a couple of musicians, pizza and beer for the residents. They had plenty of pizza to go around so I naturally had to help them celebrate by having a couple of pieces myself….no beer though. Chris's mother always enjoys a basket of fresh berries we bring with us when we visit along with a Tim Horton's coffee and doughnut and Friday was no exception.
We said our goodbyes until October and headed back to Kingston to pick up her dad before heading back to Harbourville for another visit to the Schnitzelhaus restaurant. We had the place to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed another great wiener schnitzel, spatzle with potato salad dinner. I brought my camera gear with me to the restaurant and tried a little HDR photography. The reflection of the restaurant in the puddle in the gravel parking lot caught my attention on this shot. Unfortunately it was another overcast day but I think the photo turned out quite well.
We hit the road Saturday morning about 9:30 am and after brief stops in Salisbury, Oromocto and Fredericton arrived at our friends Derek and Janice's cottage on a beautiful lake not far from Fredericton. It is so peaceful here and the scenery is wonderful. We spent an enjoyable evening chatting and catching up on all that is new in our lives. It's amazing how time flies and after a wonderful supper, we were surprised to see it was almost midnight before we all turned in for a little shut eye.
We are off as far as Drummondville, QC this morning and are looking forward to our second day of beaucoup sunshine in a row!
