Filey Photo Walk

St Oswald's “Fisherman's” Church

The sun shone again today in Filey and there is more dry weather in the forecast for the next 3-4 days as well. Chris finished another assignment for her nutrition course and we popped into the library to print it off before mailing it out this morning. With camera in hand we went for a walk around town and on the beach. The tide was way out which meant I could wander out quite a long way looking for reflections in the tidal pools.

Deepdene, Filey

We enjoyed another cup of tea on the Coble Landing before heading back to the house to wait for Matthew from Boden Gas to come by and give us a quote on installing gas heating at home. Inge has resisted having gas heat installed for many years based largely on the bad experiences her family had with gas in Germany during the war. The night storage electric heating in the house is over thirty years old now and quite expensive to operate. I finally persuaded Inge to at least listen to the advantages of gas from a professional installer. Bottom line is that the install will go ahead but not until the end of October. At least we'll have all the paperwork in place before we leave in early October.

Fishing Coble

We are planning a trip to Whitby in the morning. Both Chris & I are anxious to see how badly the cemetery and cliff top above the town was damaged over the winter. Apparently some of the cemetery collapsed and fell onto the houses below. Rumour has it that Yorkshire Water messed up and the damage may be the result of negligence. I suspect there will be lots of scaffolding, etc in place to shore up the damaged areas.
