We went for a drive up to Scarborough yesterday afternoon even though it wasn't a very nice day. Grey skies and quite windy again but we were hoping for some nice waves on Scarborough's north sea wall. To be honest, we were a little disappointed that we didn't see any real crashers but I grabbed a few shots with my iPhone to give you an idea of what we experienced. In the above photo, you can see the ruins of Scarborough castle on the cliff in the upper left background. The road behind Chris is often closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic during winter storms. The waves come crashing right over the road at times and every year there are reports of people being sucked back into the sea. Cool!
Looking north on the sea wall towards Robin Hood's Bay. We parked just left of the red life buoy hanging on the fence.
Inge came with us for the walk all the pedestrian mall in Scarborough but stayed in the car while Chris and I braved the elements on the sea wall. Lots of fun!
