It's been a very difficult time for both Chris & I these past few weeks. Isabel Orr Arnold, mother of my late wife, Elsie, has been in failing health in recent weeks and passed away peacefully in her 92nd year this past Saturday. I took this photo of Isabel at her last Thanksgiving in Hanover, ON before Chris and I packed up to head south in late October. Isabel was a wonderful lady and I and our children will have many wonderful memories of our time visiting their farm near Kincardine, ON.
Chris left early last week to be by her mother Linde's side in Middleton, NS as she too faced some health issues. Chris's siblings and children all managed to get to Nova Scotia despite the winter storms to help her father, Fred, cope during this difficult time. Linde passed away peacefully early Sunday morning. Two great ladies gone but never forgotten. Chris will be up in Nova Scotia for awhile longer yet.
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when life is done.
Rest in Peace ladies.
