Red Bay, Alabama

We were up early this morning and pulled out of the Cracker Barrel in Tifton, GA around 6:30 am. We followed Hwy 82 W through Georgia and then Hwy 280 through most of Alabama until we reached The Flying J in Birmingham. From there it was basically I-22 and Hwy 78 into Red Bay. We gained an hour because we switched to Central Standard Time and pulled into CRB around 2 pm local time. As expected the service center is very busy. All full hook up sites are taken and there are at least 14 coaches dry camping off Gates Rd. Chris checked us into the office and we were advised of a full hook up site waiting for us across the street at Detail depot. Kind of lucky really. We've counted about a dozen more coaches arrive after us. The drive to Red Bay was uneventful. We had dry roads and sunny skies almost the whole way except for a 100 ft stretch of Alabama gunk laying on the highway in front of a construction site. You can tell fom the above photo that the rear of the Bus and Saturn are a mess. I washed the Saturn already and will have a go at the Bus in the coming days.

Here we are across the road at Detail Depot. I've submitted our list of repairs already and expect a visit from Norris in the morning. Given the amount of coaches here we don't expect to be out of here until after Easter if everything goes well.

Our Verizon mifi is doing well with strong download and upload speeds. Looking forward to a good night's sleep after two days on the road. We've already run into our friends Doug & Terry who have been here for a week. We met them here last November and caught up with a visit with Doug this afternoon over coffee at our place.
