Sudbury to Wawa, Ontario

We enjoyed a quiet night at the Super WalMart in Renfrew, ON along with two other RVs before pushing on to Sudbury for the weekend. We spent three  nights at Carol’s Camp on Richard Lake which is the same lake our friends Tony & Christine are building their house on. The four of us had a great 3 day weekend. Weather was a little blustery but we persevered.😀

Monday morning we were on the road west again through Sault Ste Marie as far as Wawa, ON where we dry camped at the Esso station on Hwy 17 for the night. We did stop at the native craft store in Pancake Bay. We really had to because we passed billboards every few kilometers for about 100 kms which let us know where it was .  It was a great store and definitely a popular rest stop for traffic. They even have RV parking.

Today we’ll go as far as Thunder Bay for sure, maybe a little further depending on weather and how I feel. A little further today leaves a shorter haul into Winnipeg where we’ll be until Saturday. We’ll be visiting Chris’s aunt & uncle in Winnipeg and hopefully stopping to see friends in Steinbach as well.

Weather has been good.  No rain yesterday. Sunny with cloudy periods and about 16°C. Highway is in great shape but there is the usual spring  construction in spots.

Our  bus continues to perform well as are the two new tires on the front end. She needs a bath though. I was surprised not to see the front end plastered in bugs when we shut it down in Wawa last night. A quick cleaning of the front end with a bucket of water and squeegee got rid of them easily though.
