We enjoyed a great four days in Scotland on Loch Lomond and the coast. We also had an afternoon in Glasgow. Our hotel in Monkton wasn’t much but we only slept there anyway, so no real concern there at all. We booked with National Holidays. Neil, our driver, was wonderful and the bus was full. We stopped at Gretna Green on the way into Scotland, a popular place for weddings.
Loch Lomond Boat Cruise
We had a rainy morning for our boat cruise of Loch Lomond but it was still nice. Saw a few old castles on the shoreline but the rain made for poor photos.
The weather improved for our afternoon visit to Glasgow. We were dropped off at George Square and given three hours to amuse ourselves. We found a place to eat in one of the pedestrian malls and then wandered about admiring the old Victorian style buildings. I believe this is the Glasgow City Council.
Seating in the bus was a bit cramped unfortunately but I managed to stretch my long legs from my aisle seat. We took a different route back to Filey stopping in Moffat at the Scottish border.
