A couple of long days driving since we left Winnipeg. We followed Hwy 16, The Yellowhead, from Portage La Prairie all the way to Lloydminster, AB. The road is in great shape but we had to really look for places to pull over as there weren’t too many rests stops for rigs 65 feet long. We overnighted at two Walmarts, one in Yorkton, SK and we spent Sunday at the one in Lloydminster, AB. Both stays were great with minimal traffic noise after the stores closed. An added bonus was being able to use their wifi from inside the bus. We hit a couple of thunderstorms while driving in Saskatoon and also on our way into Lloydminster. It’s nice to see Truck stops, Husky and Petro Pass in particular, offering diesel and bulk DEF on both driver and passenger side pumps now. Sure makes it easier adding DEF from a passenger side pump. All the Flying Js we’ve used down south only have driver side bulk DEF. Perhaps that will change soon too.
